Classic elegance meets industrial at this downtown wedding | Detroit, MI

Meghan and Mike’s wedding day was so full of life! These two are so lively and fun, and their bridal party brought the same hype energy to the day. From the moment I entered the bridal suite until I left the (very packed) dance floor, it was a party. I think every person in attendance enjoyed every single minute of their wedding.

I love Meghan and Mike’s style; they blended classic elegance with the industrial feel of their venue to create something fresh and unique. The portrait locations we chose offered a little bit of both. We started at the DIA for their first look and bridal party portraits, where the white marble is timelessly beautiful and looked SO good with their blue color palette. Next, Meghan and Mike snuck away from their party for a few bride and groom photos in a really special spot: outside of a historic bar that Mike’s great-great grandfather built! I love that we were able to capture some family history in their wedding photos. We used the same location at their engagement session, which you can see here!

Another thing I loved about their wedding day is the way Meghan and Mike chose to include their nieces and nephews. There were a LOT of toddlers, and if you have ever spent time with a toddler, you know that means that 1. they will be adorable and 2. they will be unpredictable, haha! Often, couples choose to have an adult only reception, but Meghan and Mike welcomed their littlest family members and included them throughout the day in the sweetest ways. Immediately after they cut their wedding cake, Meghan offered the kids a bite. It really warmed my heart and sticks out to me as one of the cutest moments from their day!

I had such a fun day with Meghan and Mike, and their final gallery is one of my all time favorites. Meghan was a referral from a friend and past bride, and I’m just so thankful that I get to work with such wonderful people. This wedding day was everything a wedding should be: FUN!
