When it came to wedding planning, Katy and Nick were dealt a poor hand. They originally planned to get married in June at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial, but Covid-19 had other plans. When it was clear that things wouldn’t be back to normal in June, they rescheduled for late August. As their new wedding date approached closer, we could tell that things wouldn’t be back to normal in August. Their big Grosse Pointe wedding just wasn’t going to happen this time around either.
So what did they decide to do? Pivot and get married anyway!
With a new venue and a much smaller guest list, Katy and Nick tied the knot on August 27, 2020. No bridal party, no over the top decorations, just one madly in love couple surrounded by their closest family members and friends.
Katy and Nick just wanted to be married already, and it didn’t matter how that happened. And despite all of the curveballs, their wedding turned out to be absolutely gorgeous!
Fenton Winery and Brewery was the perfect setting for their outdoor ceremony and reception. After a 10 minute downpour in the morning, they had a gorgeous, sun-soaked day. Katy’s sleek dress and long veil made for the most romantic portraits. Few things get me more excited than a good veil swoop photo!
I couldn’t help but shed a few tears throughout the day, as their love was so palpable. Katy chose to do a first look with her dad, and that’s when all of the emotions started flowing. Afterwards, Katy and Nick shared the sweetest first look together. “Sweetest” really can’t be emphasized enough here. Their ceremony was beautiful, the speeches were the perfect blend of sentimental and hilarious, and the first dances had me tearing up behind my camera.
It was a perfect day.
Katy and Nick, I’m so happy for the two of you as you start your new adventure together as husband and wife. You two are a match made in heaven. Thank you so much for choosing me to capture your beautiful day. Congratulations, Dr. and Mrs. Coriasso!
