A first birthday family session at Gallup Park | Ann Arbor, MI

One of my very favorite things is meeting a new client and instantly connecting with them. This sweet family found me on Instagram, and I knew I loved them from the very beginning of our session! My son is just a couple of months older than their little Jack, and it was so easy to talk with them about life with a brand new toddler.

I don’t think we could have asked for better weather in early October. It was warm, sunny, and gorgeous at Gallup Park in Ann Arbor. This cute little park has trails and bridges right on the river. To top it all off, we got lucky with the best golden hour light!

Our session was just before Jack’s first birthday, and I’m so glad I was able to capture that milestone for them! He was pretty shy at first, but warmed up during our session with a little love from mom, dad, and grandma. 🙂

Oh, and did I mention how much I love it when families include their dog in family photos? Meeting a new dog is the absolute best.
