Courtney and Kevin’s wedding was a beautiful and joyous affair. The Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester is a classic, posh, and timeless venue that served as the perfect backdrop for their day. Every detail at their reception was perfectly planned and executed. An incredible team of vendors came together to make the reception space grand (with some personal touches from Courtney herself, who hand painted the guest seating plaques!) Courtney’s mom had a few reception surprises waiting for them, including a customized logo on the dance floor with their initials. My favorite surprise was walking into their room to find one of my favorite vendors: Julia McNally, an incredibly talented live painter. Her work is stunning, and watching her paint throughout a wedding day is such a fascinating process!
I first met Courtney a few years ago at her college grad photo session combined with her brother’s high school grad photo session. Knowing how wonderful her family is, I was SO excited when they reached out about photographing Courtney’s wedding. There’s no bigger compliment than returning clients, and it’s such a joy to catch up with families I’ve loved working with in the past.
Courtney and Kevin are some of the kindness and most genuine people I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Their day was just as sweet and celebratory as I’d anticipated. These two are high school sweethearts who spent a little time apart in college, but came back together because they were just meant to be. These two built in a lot of time on their wedding day to be together and sneak away for portraits. I love when First Looks don’t feel rushed and there’s time at the tail end of dinner for dreamy sunset photos! They also took a few minutes to view their reception space before guests arrived, which I LOVE! It’s a really special moment to see all of your planning come together and a moment that can often be overlooked in the whirlwind of the day if you don’t schedule the time for it.
Their family members and friends showered them with so much love and support throughout the day. One thing I loved most about their day was the relationship they share with their grandparents. It was so sweet to see Courtney and Kevin’s grandparents on the dance floor and waving sparklers at night. It was such a fun celebration!
